About Hepatitis A
Hepatitis A spreads through contaminated food and water. Shellfish, salads and ice are the usual culprits, and even careful travellers in good hotels catch it.
The illness is rarely fatal but frequently miserable, with weeks of fatigue and jaundice that can write off a month of work after you return.
A single dose starts working within about two weeks and is worth having even if you are flying in days.
